Following up on earlier ideas Twitter is primarily monologue, then there is regurgitation of monologues (aka RT) — what ELSE is there?

BTW: Does anyone know of a way to “reverse” links on the web — like an app that creates backlinks on the fly? (e.g. enter a link + a number X, then the application creates a set of pages up to X links back from that link [perhaps also limited to up to Y days])? I think that would be kinda neat-o!

However, it seems that many SEO services write articles for the web that are simply crammed full of popular keywords (rather than targeted messages).

The results you get are rather mediocre: people may reach your website, but many of them may not actually be in your target audience — and that is neither useful to you nor useful to them… it is simply a disappointing experience all around.

Better than simply reaching many people is to reach a high percentage of people in your target audience

So never mind if a service promises you “X guaranteed visitors” — what you need is to get Z% of your target audience.

First, you need to define that target audience / those target audiences you’re trying to reach.

Then you need to come up with a good estimate for the size of that audience. Note that it’s important to clearly define your measurement technique for measuring the targets you’re trying to reach. For example: if you want to reach people searching for information about dating websites or who want to post personals online, then look at indicators of such interests — such as how often people search for online personals on some of the top search engines. That way, when you wish to measure the success, you will have something to guage the success of your campaign. It is also advisable to use several ways to measure your target audience rather than just one.

How will you know when you have reached your target audience?

Simple: They will pay for your products / services! Increasing the percentage of paying customers is a clear indicator of reaching your target audience. Also, other feedback you get from visitors is also very valuable in this regard — so encourage visitors to ask questions + suggest ideas for how to improve your products, services, and / or your website.

Other people need to find information — what questions are they asking?

Are you more concerned with getting your message out … or answering their questions?

In fact: Using today’s technology, you need to incorporate both questions + answers in your online writing.

Ideally, the question will be the domain name (if that isn’t available, then you’ll simply have to resort to using SEO tactics). Your answer to the potential customer’s question will be the post itself.
